FAQ

Questions we hear first.

What is RiskCorrect?

RiskCorrect is a claims and risk management platform for contractors and other high-risk employers, backed by a team of Claim Strategists and Risk Consultants. It manages claims on every line of coverage, captures incidents from the field, ties corrective action to each loss, keeps OSHA logs and the experience mod current, tracks sub certificates, and turns all of it into renewal narratives for underwriters. It's owned by Higginbotham and based in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Is RiskCorrect only for workers' comp?

No. RiskCorrect manages claims on workers' comp, auto, general liability and property. Comp-specific tools like OSHA logs and mod management are part of the platform, but they're only part of it.

Does RiskCorrect replace my carrier, TPA or broker?

No. RiskCorrect and CCI Risk provide risk management, loss control and advisory services. They don't adjust claims or sell insurance. Your carrier still adjusts the claim, and we make sure it moves in your interest and is documented for your renewal.

Do I have to buy insurance through Higginbotham?

No. RiskCorrect is a standalone, fee-based product, and many clients start with it while keeping their current broker.

How do I know if it's a fit?

Book a review. With your loss runs and mod worksheet, a producer can show you where your costs come from and what managing them would change. If you don't have the documents handy, we can help you get them.

What do I need to send?

Loss runs for up to five years on all lines, your current experience mod worksheet, and your policies or declarations pages. A safety manual, key contracts and driver MVRs make the review sharper, but they're optional.

Can RiskCorrect lower my experience mod?

RiskCorrect helps clients protect and improve their experience mod through earlier intervention, active claim management, return-to-work programs and corrective action. The review models your mod claim by claim, so you can see the likely effect before you commit.

Does it work with large deductible, retro or self-insured programs?

Yes. Loss-sensitive programs feel claim costs directly, so managing those costs matters even more.

Is it just software?

No. Claim strategists are assigned at first notice, and risk consultants turn findings into prevention. The team has logged more than 14,000 hours on client claims. AI-supported insights are backed by experienced claims and risk professionals, who add context and help put them into practice.

Does RiskCorrect use AI, and what happens to my employees' information?

Yes. AI reads documents and drafts summaries, narratives and action items. Before a document is sent to a model, RiskCorrect removes personal identifiers such as employee names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth and contact details, and works from claim numbers instead. This applies to every AI feature. Your data is never used to train AI models, and the AI terms are part of the user agreement. Experienced claims and risk professionals add context to what the AI produces and put it into practice.

We work in several states. Can RiskCorrect handle that?

Yes. Each claim is handled under its own state's rules, whether that state uses NCCI, one of the eleven independent rating bureaus, or its own system like Texas. Wage statements are generated in every state, and you see every claim across every state in one place.

Who is RiskCorrect built for?

Middle-market and large contractors, from about 50 to more than 10,000 employees, with meaningful claim frequency and bid eligibility tied to their mod, incident rates or OSHA record. Trade contractors and marine construction are our core.

What industries does RiskCorrect serve?

Construction first: trade contractors and general contractors, where a single claim can move a renewal and owners and GCs prequalify bidders on mod, TRIR and OSHA history. RiskCorrect also serves marine, staffing, healthcare, manufacturing and transportation companies that need the same claims and risk management even if their bids don't depend on OSHA numbers or a mod.

How does it help my employees?

Injured workers are paid faster, their medical care is coordinated, and they have a clear path back to work.
